Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Waiter/Waitress to join the team at Shimmers Restaurant, Jumeirah Mina A'Salam. The successful candidate will provide exceptional service to guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience in line with Jumeirah's high standards.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests with a warm welcome, escort them to their tables, and ensure their comfort.
  • Provide detailed information on menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and potential allergens.
  • Inform guests of daily specials and promotions, offering personalized recommendations for food and beverages.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately, noting any special requests or dietary restrictions.
  • Ensure compliance with legal alcohol serving age requirements, checking identification as needed.
  • Coordinate with bartenders and kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.
  • Serve food and beverages using proper serving techniques and maintaining Jumeirah’s quality standards.
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or issues efficiently, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Support team members in daily operations, contributing to a smooth and efficient service flow.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a luxury 5-star hotel or high-end restaurant environment.
  • Proficiency in spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and guests at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, including outdoor settings.
  • Knowledge of food handling, safety regulations, and fine dining etiquette.
  • Positive attitude, with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

 

Level of Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality training preferred.

Work Hours:
Full-time, with flexible hours including weekends and holidays based on operational needs.

Experience in Months:
Minimum of 12 months experience in a luxury hospitality or fine dining environment.
