Job Summary:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Waiter / Waitress in the Food & Beverage department at Jumeirah Beach Hotel. This role is essential for providing exceptional service and ensuring guest satisfaction in a dynamic dining environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise workflow and the sequence of service during busy periods, providing hands-on support to the service team.
  • Deliver knowledgeable, friendly, and professional food and beverage service to guests, ensuring adherence to Jumeirah standards.
  • Maintain efficient service flow by following the established Sequence of Service and all timelines specified in the F&B Standards Manual.
  • Anticipate and fulfill customer needs and expectations, particularly for guests with special requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and enhancing the overall dining experience, including guest recognition and promoting resort offerings.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints promptly, reporting any unresolved issues to the Outlet Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the menu and beverage offerings to effectively answer guest inquiries and provide recommendations.
  • Conduct regular training and coaching for junior staff to uphold the F&B SOPs and service standards.
  • Assist in the organization and execution of special events or promotions to enhance guest engagement.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery and communicate guest preferences or dietary restrictions.
  • Participate in daily briefings and contribute to a positive team environment.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a 5-star hotel, luxury restaurant, or upscale bar setting.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in an additional language is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Food and Beverage applications, such as Micros and Sevenrooms.
  • Strong passion for providing exceptional dining experiences and a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of wine and beverage pairings is desirable.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

 

Level of Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality or culinary education is a plus.

Work Hours:

  • Flexible availability required, including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

Experience in Months:

  • Minimum of 24 months of experience in a food and beverage service role.
