Job Summary:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Waiter/Waitress at Shimmers Restaurant in Jumeirah Mina Al Salam Hotel. In this role, you will deliver exceptional food and beverage service while ensuring maximum guest satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the workflow and sequence of service during service periods, providing hands-on support to the team.
  • Deliver knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and efficient food and beverage service to all guests in line with Jumeirah standards.
  • Maintain efficient workflow by adhering to the Sequence of Service and all timeframes outlined in relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Anticipate customer needs and expectations, including those with special requirements, providing appropriate products, services, or information.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to enhance service quality, including upselling and guest recognition.
  • Address guest complaints and negative feedback promptly, informing the Outlet Manager or Assistant Manager if necessary.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the menu to effectively answer guest inquiries and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure adherence to F&B SOPs through continuous observation, coaching, and training of team members.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff, fostering a positive team environment.
  • Monitor the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, ensuring it meets the standards of excellence.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
  • Participate in menu tastings and feedback sessions to contribute to menu development and improvement.
  • Stay informed about seasonal menu changes, special promotions, and restaurant events to enhance guest experience.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 24 months of experience in a similar position within a 5-star hotel, luxury restaurant, or upscale bar setting.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in an additional international language is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with food and beverage applications such as Micros and Sevenrooms.
  • Strong passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on team collaboration.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage pairings, service techniques, and culinary trends.

 

Level of Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality or related field is preferred.

Work Hours:

  • Flexible availability required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Experience in Months:

  • Minimum of 24 months of relevant experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
