Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and friendly Waiter/ess to join the Cala Vista Restaurant team at Jumeirah Mina Al Salam. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional service, ensuring guests have a memorable dining experience.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Answer inquiries about food and beverage items on the menu, providing detailed descriptions of ingredients and preparation methods.
- Be knowledgeable about allergy information and communicate this to guests as needed.
- Inform guests of daily specials and promotions not listed on the menu.
- Verify customers' identification to ensure compliance with alcohol legal age requirements.
- Offer food and wine suggestions, tailoring recommendations to guests' preferences.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, including any special requests, and relay them to the kitchen promptly.
- Input orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system as required.
- Collaborate with bartenders and kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of beverages and food orders.
- Deliver and serve food and beverages at tables, adhering to Jumeirah's established food handling and serving standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including resetting tables and ensuring supplies are stocked.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance service skills and product knowledge.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Support team members in other areas as needed during busy periods.
Requirements:
- Proficient in spoken and written business English; additional languages are a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and management at all levels.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within a 5-star luxury hotel or restaurant.
- Ability to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of food and beverage pairings and trends in fine dining.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Level of Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant hospitality certifications are a plus.
Work Hours:
- Full-time position, including shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
Experience in Months:
- Minimum of 12 months (1 year) of experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment.
