Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and friendly Waiter/ess to join the Cala Vista Restaurant team at Jumeirah Mina Al Salam. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional service, ensuring guests have a memorable dining experience.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Answer inquiries about food and beverage items on the menu, providing detailed descriptions of ingredients and preparation methods.
  • Be knowledgeable about allergy information and communicate this to guests as needed.
  • Inform guests of daily specials and promotions not listed on the menu.
  • Verify customers' identification to ensure compliance with alcohol legal age requirements.
  • Offer food and wine suggestions, tailoring recommendations to guests' preferences.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders, including any special requests, and relay them to the kitchen promptly.
  • Input orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system as required.
  • Collaborate with bartenders and kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of beverages and food orders.
  • Deliver and serve food and beverages at tables, adhering to Jumeirah's established food handling and serving standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including resetting tables and ensuring supplies are stocked.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance service skills and product knowledge.
  • Handle guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Support team members in other areas as needed during busy periods.

 

Requirements:

  • Proficient in spoken and written business English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and management at all levels.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within a 5-star luxury hotel or restaurant.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage pairings and trends in fine dining.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

 

Level of Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant hospitality certifications are a plus.

Work Hours:

  • Full-time position, including shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Experience in Months:

  • Minimum of 12 months (1 year) of experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment.
