Job Summary:
The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations, including culinary, restaurant, beverage, and room service. This role focuses on ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining high standards and achieving financial goals. The manager demonstrates knowledge of food and beverage laws and regulations and develops and implements strategic business plans to optimize operations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage budgets for food and beverage departments, ensuring positive cost management and financial performance.
  • Lead and supervise all food and beverage staff, managing day-to-day operations and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Provide training and ongoing development for employees, fostering a culture of motivation, empowerment, and teamwork.
  • Monitor and maintain productivity levels and employee performance, offering proactive coaching and feedback.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and recognize employees for exceeding goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all food and beverage laws and safety regulations.
  • Resolve guest complaints and concerns promptly, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate events and services, maintaining high standards for all banquet functions.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, implement improvements, and achieve business objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with staff at all levels to drive alignment with brand service culture and operational goals.
  • Conduct regular meetings to ensure team members are informed of objectives, updates, and best practices.
  • Maintain inventory control and manage supplier relationships to ensure the availability of high-quality products.
  • Implement sustainability practices in food and beverage operations to minimize waste and environmental impact.

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 4 years of experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area.
  • OR a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field; with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and applicable food and beverage laws.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a positive working environment and enhance team performance.
  • Ability to analyze financial reports and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions quickly.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Certifications in food safety and beverage service preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Previous experience in a luxury or upscale environment is a plus.
