Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Team Leader to join the Cala Vista Restaurant team at Jumeirah Mina Al Salam Hotel. This role involves managing daily operations, guiding team members, and ensuring the highest standards of service and hospitality. The ideal candidate will have a passion for excellence and a strong ability to foster teamwork.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the restaurant team, ensuring all activities align with departmental and organizational goals.
  • Motivate and support team members, fostering a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and productivity.
  • Develop and implement action plans to achieve performance targets and objectives.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities among team members.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating compassion, honesty, and integrity in all interactions with guests and staff.
  • Brief staff on their duties before each shift, ensuring they are informed about updates and directives from management.
  • Compile duty rosters and manage changes as necessary to optimize team performance.
  • Prepare reports and maintain organized filing systems for operational documentation.
  • Manage stock levels, vendor directories, and contract agreements where applicable.
  • Oversee supply chain processes, including vendor registration and purchase order submission, ensuring timely and accurate expense management.
  • Report operational issues, conflicts, or irregularities to the Supervisor, and ensure prompt resolution of technical glitches.
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally, documenting relevant details and escalating when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and guidelines specific to each domain within the restaurant.
  • Conduct regular checks and audits to uphold Jumeirah's standards of service and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain knowledge of wine, food, drinks, and cultural customs to enhance the dining experience.
  • Guide guests in queries related to wine, food, drinks, and available services, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the team.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role within the international hospitality industry, preferably in a restaurant setting.
  • Proficient in English (read, write, and speak); knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment, demonstrating respect and understanding of cultural differences.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Ability to handle stress and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including inventory management and cost control.

 

Level of Education:

  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.

Work Hours:

  • Full-time position, with flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Experience in Months:

  • Minimum of 24 months (2 years) in a similar leadership role in the hospitality industry.
