Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Head Waiter to join our fine dining team. The Head Waiter will be responsible for ensuring an exceptional guest experience by managing service operations, leading the team, and maintaining high standards of food and beverage presentation. This role is critical to creating a memorable dining experience and requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the dining room service, ensuring guest satisfaction and maintaining a smooth operation.
  • Greet and seat guests, building strong rapport to enhance their dining experience.
  • Ensure that all service standards and fine dining etiquette are strictly adhered to.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of food and beverage served, escalating any discrepancies to the kitchen or management.
  • Provide detailed knowledge of the menu, including specials, promotions, and wine pairings, offering personalized recommendations to guests.
  • Coordinate and manage service staff during shifts, ensuring proper table assignments and efficient service flow.
  • Handle guest complaints and resolve service issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.
  • Conduct pre-service briefings with the team to discuss daily specials, VIP guests, and any service updates.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate junior staff to maintain a high standard of service and professionalism.
  • Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene regulations are followed in the dining area and related service areas.
  • Assist in coordinating private dining events and special functions.
  • Manage guest reservations and ensure special requests are handled appropriately, including dietary preferences and table assignments.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel as a Head Waiter or in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of fine dining service, food presentation, and wine pairing.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and multitask efficiently.
  • Professional appearance and a commitment to providing exceptional guest service.
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software and reservation systems is preferred.

 

Level of Education:
Diploma in Hospitality Management or relevant certification in restaurant service.

 

Work Hours:
Full-time position, flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

 

Experience in Months:
Minimum 36 months of experience in a similar role in a luxury restaurant or hotel setting.
