Job Summary:
The Head Hostess at Nobu is responsible for overseeing the front-of-house operations and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. This role involves managing reservations, greeting guests, and coordinating the flow of service in a high-end dining environment. The Head Hostess will lead the host team and collaborate with restaurant management to enhance operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the host team, ensuring all team members are trained and adhere to service standards.
- Greet and welcome guests with warmth and professionalism, creating a positive first impression.
- Oversee reservation systems, managing bookings, walk-ins, and special requests efficiently.
- Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table turnover while ensuring guest comfort.
- Assist with menu explanations and answer guest inquiries regarding food, beverages, and restaurant policies.
- Monitor the dining area to ensure cleanliness and organization.
- Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to manage guest flow and service timing.
- Handle guest complaints and feedback promptly, ensuring resolutions meet Nobu’s high standards.
- Assist in training new host staff on procedures, menu knowledge, and guest interaction protocols.
- Maintain effective communication with the management team regarding guest preferences and feedback.
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations to ensure a safe dining environment.
- Organize and participate in special events and promotions as required by the restaurant management.
- Keep track of guest preferences and feedback to enhance future dining experiences.
- Conduct regular inventory checks of menus, promotional materials, and other supplies related to hosting.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Host/Hostess in a high-end restaurant or hospitality environment is essential.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on guest relations.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- Proficiency in reservation management systems and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of food and beverage offerings, with a passion for fine dining.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Level of Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Hospitality Management or related field is preferred.
Work Hours:
Full-time, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operational needs.
Experience in Months:
Minimum of 24 months (2 years) of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
