I am a South African Police Officer with 20 years and 5 months experience. My duties as a Police Officer included, but were not limited to, crime prevention, crime investigation, attending crime scenes, collection and safeguarding of evidence, identification and apprehension suspects. Schedule 1 offences eg. Murder, rape and robbery were attended frequently and efficiently . Less severe offenses, such as assault, were attended to with the same amount of importance and urgency. Collection of evidence is crucial for an investigation to be successful and as a result I ensured that all evidence collected were handled with extreme caution limiting such handling to essential role players. The investigation of a crime follows a categorical sequence. This ensure a smooth overall investigation and can almost always result in convictions. Proper procedures need to be followed.
My extensive experience is amplified by an NQF7 qualification in Forensic Science and Technology. In my studies I have received 19 of 25 distinctions. This is a reflection of my intellect and ability to absorb information. My main area of studies were Selected Crimes and Transgressions. Two of my final year modules dealt solely on Fraud detection and investigation and was base in its entirety on the Certified Fraud Examiner's Manual. Another major module was Cyber Crime and the investigation thereof. Forensic Methods and Techniques, forensic crime intelligence, Project Management, Strategic Management and Implementation, Risk Management and Criminal Law were some of the areas that I excelled at.
I have been supervising and managing personnel for the past 10 years. I have always strived to utilise human resources to the maximum whilst taking into account each individual’s strengths and weaknesses. I have mastered the ability to deal with people from all walks of life with their unique personalities. I am adept at conflict resolution and can strategically place my subordinates to optimize their individual capabilities.
I consider myself to be highly professional and always strive carry out my duties to the best of my abilities. I am diligent responsible and always maintain a positive attitude. I believe that this positive attitude of mine is what motivates those working with me to give off their best. Leadership by example is a key aspect of good management.
