Job Summary:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to join the Shimmers Restaurant team at Jumeirah Mina Al Salam Hotel. This role focuses on overseeing and mentoring a group of colleagues, fostering a positive environment to achieve organizational goals and enhance team performance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily activities of the team, ensuring smooth operations and high service standards.
  • Motivate and guide team members to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Develop and implement action plans and timelines to meet performance targets.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating compassion, honesty, and integrity in all interactions.
  • Ensure all personnel and guests are greeted and attended to professionally and discreetly.
  • Conduct daily briefings with staff regarding duties, updates, and departmental directives.
  • Compile duty rosters and advise on changes as necessary.
  • Prepare reports and maintain organized filing systems for operational documentation.
  • Manage stock and inventories, ensuring accuracy in vendor directories and contract agreements.
  • Oversee supply chain processes, including vendor registration, code creation, and price updates.
  • Submit purchase orders and verify that the receiving process aligns with budget allocations.
  • Report operational issues, conflicts, and irregularities to the Supervisor promptly.
  • Address guest inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring effective resolution and documentation.
  • Familiarize staff with compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to their roles.
  • Conduct regular checks and audits to uphold Jumeirah’s highest service standards.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service in alignment with departmental KPIs.
  • Stay informed about wine, food, and beverage offerings to enhance guest experiences.
  • Provide guidance to customers regarding queries related to the restaurant, property, and services offered.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the international hospitality industry.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (read, write, speak); proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Experience working in an international capacity, demonstrating understanding and respect for cultural differences.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-cultural team environment.
  • Strong passion for delivering exceptional service and driving excellence in hospitality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with hospitality management software.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest inquiries and complaints effectively.

 

Level of Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Hospitality Management or related field is preferred.

Work Hours:

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Experience in Months:

  • Minimum of 24 months of experience in a hospitality leadership role.
