Job Summary:
The Service Leader - Engineering Electrical & Mechanical at Shangri-La Dubai is responsible for managing the hotel's electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and efficiency. The role involves supervising the engineering team, maintaining systems, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to enhance the hotel's operations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of engineering technicians, ensuring high performance.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems across the hotel.
  • Implement and manage comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for all hotel equipment and systems.
  • Ensure all engineering records and documentation are accurately maintained for future planning and compliance audits.
  • Monitor the performance of plant equipment to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety and regulatory standards in the maintenance of all equipment.
  • Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption to guest services.
  • Lead energy-saving initiatives and sustainability efforts, ensuring the efficient use of resources.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and systems, addressing any issues proactively.
  • Manage inventory levels for maintenance supplies and spare parts, ensuring availability for repairs.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly, ensuring guest and staff safety.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or facilities management within a luxury hotel or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and energy management systems.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to train, mentor, and motivate a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, fluent in English; proficiency in a second language is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-driven approach to tasks.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technology and maintenance practices.

 

Level of Education:
Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Work Hours:
Full-time position, with availability for on-call shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Experience in Months:
24+ months of relevant experience in a similar role, with a focus on hotel or hospitality environments.
