Job Summary:
We are looking for a diligent and proactive Room Attendant to join our housekeeping team. You will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for our guests.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, and removing trash.
  • Clean kitchen areas, including refrigerators, coffee/tea makers, cups, glasses, and silverware as needed.
  • Wear safety protection equipment as provided in line with department regulations and local legislative requirements.
  • Handle and store cleaning chemicals in accordance with hotel regulations.
  • Greet and acknowledge guests in a friendly manner.
  • Notify the supervisor when room cleaning is complete so that rooms may be sold or occupied.
  • Report any rooms that cannot be serviced to the supervisor according to established procedures.
  • Communicate needed repairs or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
  • Follow established safety procedures and report any health and safety incidents, security breaches, or suspicious behavior to the supervisor or manager on duty immediately.
  • Respond to guest complaints and special requests, taking action to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and control supplies and amenities, minimizing waste in all housekeeping areas.
  • Report, turn in, and log all lost and found items according to established procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel information to provide assistance to guests.
  • Assist guests and escort them to locations within the hotel upon request.
  • Ensure thorough knowledge of all hotel public areas.
  • Complete cleaning schedules in a routine and timely manner.
  • Participate in recycling efforts where possible.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with other departments to ensure excellent service quality.
  • Assist with deep cleaning projects and turn-down duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Safeguard hotel property and ensure the security of guest belongings.

 

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills to address guest and colleague concerns effectively.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Literate and tech-savvy, with a good grasp of reading, writing, basic math, and computer skills, particularly with hotel reservation systems like Opera.
  • Flexibility to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required; a college or university degree is a bonus.
  • Ideally, at least two years of experience in a guest service position within a 5-star property.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and lift heavy items when necessary.
