  • A confident technical professional with broad communication, and presentation skills, and a full understanding of the Exploration and Development Studies business. More than 27 years of experience (Offshore & Onshore) in Petrophysics, Reservoir evaluation. For both conventional and unconventional reservoirs, Expert in all Wireline and LWD petrophysical tools open hole and cased hole such as Acoustics, NMR, Geochemical Logging, and the integrated work programs/projects. Throughout his career, Dr. Tharwat has shared the success of increasing the reserves for many oil fields (Inside and Outside Egypt). Process and interpret many jobs in petrophysics including all tools such as Sonic, NMR-ECS-RST-Neutron , Resistivity and Density,for gulf areas such as Kuwait-Qatar-Sudan – Egypt including (Compressional shear-stoneley processing-Fracture notification–Permeability calculation–stress analysis –anisotropy analysis –Geo-chemical analysis) by using DSI-Sonic scanner-X-MAC). In addition the LWD (Magtrak -AND-Startarck-Geostereing ,LTK-MTK- and very strong in Geomechanics work by using the TECHLOG software. Performed many projects for PETRONAS in term of petrophysical analysis – Rock typing, pressure analysis – core integration, Saturation high modeling -permeability calculation. Thin bed analysis by using Thomas Stieber and LRP.
  • Tharwat, a member of SPE, AAPG, and SPWLA supervised more than 20 researches in both conventional and unconventional reservoirs and played Petrophysical Advisor role at several international companies (Schlumberger, BP, and Baker Hughes –Halliburton). Dr. Tharwat obtained BSc 1995 in petroleum engineering-Egypt, MSc in petroleum engineering 2009 (Thesis in Petrophysics), and PhD in reservoir engineering 2013 (Faculty of Petroleum heriot watt University-UK), he published and a co-author for around 15 technical papers / presentations. Dr. Tharwat has 2 chapters of contributes in Petrophysical book (titles - Applied techniques to integrated oil and gas reservoir characterization - published by Elsevier march 2019)
  • Tharwat believes in hard work and accurate output has shared in the evaluation Core integration with good experience and knowledge in well site operations, evaluation for deviated wells, and Safety process. An expert user of different Petrophysical software like IP, Tech log, Élan, - Acoustics Processing and Interpretation and also an expert user of other geoscience’s/engineering’s software like Petrel, eclipse- Pressure Analysis
  • Tharwat, a professor at several universities in Egypt (AUC, FUE, BUE) coaching young generation, supervised more than 15 graduation projects of conventional and unconventional reservoir and teaching many courses (Formation Evaluation, Reservoir engineering –Petrophysics –rock priorities – EOR. -advanced production logging). Currently, writing for publish new book in reservoir rock properties and coring.
