I am a native English-speaking teacher from Cape Town, South Africa with 22 years of experience, applying for the position as Health and Physical Education Teacher.

I aspire to build healthy relationships with students by motivating and inspiring them to always aim at making today’s goal to go one level up as compared to yesterday. I consider it important to challenge students to help them deepen their knowledge and understanding of the world around them by developing their strengths and guiding them to discover how they fit into this world and their surroundings, to ultimately make a positive difference and contribution as an individual, as well as in collaboration with peers.

I believe that I am well-suited for the role as Health and Physical Education Teacher based on my qualifications, and that you will find that my teaching experience, combined with extra-curricular activities that led to me having a wonderful experience as coach of South Africa’s national under 19 volleyball team and also Provincial athletics coach, will ensure a vital contribution to a suitable school as a teacher as well as to the extra-curricular program. I have also recently coached our school’s football team to the final of the Abu Dhabi Schools Championship and travelled with the basketball team to Spain. My latest personal learning experience and development was as part of the team that organized the recent World Triathlon Championship Final in Abu Dhabi, where vital additional experience in logistics, staff management and race officiating will surely be valuable in my ongoing development as a teacher and sport administrator. I look forward to utilizing this experience to contribute to the holistic development and growth of students.

I always endeavour to ensure a safe, friendly, and positive learning environment, in which students can develop and foster the appropriate skills and social attributes to enable their optimum development. Having taught at different grade levels and inclusive of a broad spectrum of cultural backgrounds throughout my career, my experiences as an educator has enabled me to consider different levels of maturity and abilities when planning daily learning experiences and activities. I am very appreciative that these factors, I believe, have contributed to my own growth, both personally and as an educator.
