One of my greatest achievements were at Coca-Cola I led the implementation of a waste recycling program, involving separation at source as well as changing the service provider to a more reliant supplier. Resulting in the company saving R137000.00 in the first month of recycling, as well as the successful implementation of an effluent treatment plant on site to improve the sites COD’s,BOD’s and pH. I have over 15 years’ experience in the Petrochemical field at SASOL South Africa as a Process Operator and Principle Safety Representative where my duties included, but was not limited to: • Documenting of all procedures, processes, guidelines and training • Internal Consultations • Investigations • Audits • Assessments • Training • Preventative Strategies • Performed daily routine inspections, problem solving and panel operations; made critical observation of gas flows and plant processes. • Supported other team members, developed team training modules and implemented various team building activities. • Performed standby duties involving hot work/cold work and various shutdown experiences; handled advanced plant and panel operations I have successfully completed my Degree in Safety Management and strive to always improve my knowledge and skills, in the field and outside. I have also completed the following certificates: • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) • Basic Principles in Occupational Hygiene • Safety Management training Course (SAMTRAC) • Safety SME – Assessment College of South Africa to conduct outcome based assessments One of my next goals are to register and complete my NEBOSH qualification. I believe that safety should play an integral part in everyday life and should not be neglected or overlooked as second priority. Therefore I feel this is a field where one should always try to improve and build on your knowledge in order to provide the best possible solutions to ensure that every employee works safely, as well as return safely home. I have excellent communication and negotiation skills and use these currently to interact with various authority levels within my organization. I have great interpersonal skills and have the ability to create, and draw on, business-oriented networks. I am considered a calm and controlled person. My work persona gives lead to my colleagues leveraging on my knowledge and ability to give direction.
