Airport and Port Operations

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

After more than 12 years working in the Dominican Republic in the port and airport sector I would like to make a further step: change the location and continue making my career grow.

For the last 6 years I have been working as port operations coordinator at the cruise port of La Romana in Dominican Republic where my main responsibility is overviewing all cruise ship related activities, like ramp and baggage handling, passenger service, maintenance of the port installations, supervising the commercial area, assuring the presence of all required authorities as well as keeping continuous communication with the vessels and their head offices, maritime agencies and with La Romana airport and the airlines involved in air cruise exchange.

Before that I was working for 6 years at Santo Domingo, La Romana, Punta Cana, Puerto Plata and Samana International Airports in ground operations, load control and flight dispatch for Spirit Airlines, Condor, Thomas Cook Airlines, Neos and LATAM.

Among others, my responsibilities were load control, flight planning, preparation of ATC flight plans, crew briefings and aircraft ground coordination, ULD stock monitoring (Jettainer and Unitload), preparing of loading instructions and load sheets, coordinating of gate assignation with the airport owner and more. Within my responsibilities I also was in charge of the ramp and baggage team.

Also I had some experience in the area of aircraft maintenance. I was in charge of communication flow with our aircraft engineers during flight preparation and turnarounds. During AOGs I was the link between station maintenance, crew on stand-by, MOC and OCC. Additionally, I had some opportunities to help out during repair work during some AOGs.

Also, I was teaching flight dispatch, using ATPL theory from the FAA, at an aeronautical school in Punta Cana as well as I was the responsible load control officer for Condor in Costa Rica and Panama.

I have Operations, Customer Service, Dangerous Goods, Flight Dispatcher and Load Control certificates.

I still have excellent relations with the airlines and the airport administrator where I sometimes help out with contracts and recruitment.

I am looking for a chance to continue growing professionally and I am sure that I would fit well in your team by contributing international experience, knowledge of the maritime sector and a lot of desire to learn. I am very flexible in schedules and assignment of duties and can adapt quickly to new environments.

With very kind regards,

Igor Gontarev
