• Maintain a systems backed operation for maintenance & upkeep of company owned plant & machinery also generate data, record and monitor performance of machinery, this makes way for planned maintenance, and hence schedules are made & kept. This results in maintaining budgets and making planned expenditure. This also included a check on inventory levels of spare and lubricants which were maintained to ensure smooth flow of work.

 

• Hands on experience in establishing a fully functioning Machinery Department from scratch & guaranteeing 98% uptime availability for production at site.

 

• Plan for machinery availability in consultation with Project Manager. Servicing needs of equipment are announced well in time to concerned persons, such that minimal time is lost in machine operation.

 

• I have hands-on experience in maintenance of all types of equipment such as large air compressors, air dryers, and earthmoving equipment, Mobile Cranes on & off road equipment etc. I have equipped myself by attending special training classes for truck repair & maintenance and a range of gear boxes.

 

• I am trained in HSE, fire fighting, basic life support and H2S awareness and escape as well.

 

• I have recently undergone few management training in house in Effective problem solving and Decision making  and Financial Re-Engineering  from the best in the industry, and have helped me a lot in overcoming many difficulties technically, and advancing to the further stage with strength.

 

COMPETENCIES OVERVIEW

 

Implementation:

 

Designed and implemented equipment efficiency / performance analysis to arrive at a point to decide on future action to be taken, before reaching an emergency situation.

Redesigned, Implemented SAP PM Mode in Equipment Division.

 

Manpower Planning & Training:

 

I planned for providing manpower coinciding with the project commencement. This included contingencies as well. Performance mapping of individuals is carried out constantly vis-à-vis machine performance parameters. The attitude and outlook of personnel in the department were tuned to perform as per ISO & OSHAS norms and also suit ERP needs for reports & feedback.

 

 

 

Compensation & Benefits:

 

Implemented KRA for each individual & performance would be reviewed periodically, with indicators available to the individual on observed deviations, for corrective action & an observation plan & period. A failure of the individual to match up would be considered for other suitable duties and a replacement is found. The individual’s compensation / increment recommendation would be put up based on mapped performance.

 

Operating Facility:

 

A fully functional workshop adequately equipped with all necessary tools & utilities is planned for every location manned with trained personnel & if required for 24 hours working shifts.

 

 

Project Coordination:

 

I ensure proper coordinated instruction is worked out with site Project managers, so as to ensure no pockets of idle time are left out in work instructions.

 

New Projects:

When new projects are taken up by the company, it is my responsibility to identify and select & recommend the desired equipment, keeping in mind our past experience and location.

 

Operating Software: 

I attained a moderate knowledge in Oracle and SAP system backed Maintenance systems being used in in the Industry and having a good awareness of configuring these in designing the workshop operation process and systems based on the working pattern of different organization

Job Profile :

 

NBTC is a flagship company of KGA Group with operations in Gulf continent, established in 1977, with rich experience in Oil & Gas Mechanical and Civil construction activities in the State of Kuwait and neighbouring countries. Having a rich share of jobs in KNPC, KOC.ADNOC

Currently working in the capacity of Head – Equipment Division in Abu Dhabi operation, with the responsibility of managing the whole workshop and associated activities in repair and maintenance of around 700 Heavy equipment fleet consisting of Caterpillar, Komatsu and Volvo heavy equipment and Mobile cranes of different makes up to 600 T capacity, static equipment like welding machines, air compressors etc and Generators of different make majority of Cummins make along with other transport vehicles and passenger vehicles.

Job Involves day today activities of work workshop with a staff of around 50 and a mechanical and operational staff of around 350 persons. I am directly involved in the Capex purchase decision and suggestion, and leading the division as an independent profit centre.

In the tenure of my current job , I had been the In-charge for Plant and machinery division in projects like RGPPL LNG Project, and have successfully completed the prestigious Dhabol Bangalore Pipe line project Recently before undertaking the current responsibility

I am also responsible in selection and appointment of down the line work force for required for day to day activities in site operation includes educating and correcting the operators over the safe operations and to minimise the abuse of equipment working under various terrains.

I am involved in conducting regular Continuous Education Programme for operational staffs at site. It also involves the measuring of various parameters of equipment performance under various climatic & geographic conditions, and reporting the same to the project in charges which in turn helps the company in selection of equipment for the projects in various geography

In the current responsibility, I am also doing the job of Project Co –ordination, helping the project in getting all the necessary support from the different departments’ In House, following up with other departments like, planning, designing, procurement inventory ETC.

The company was dedicated in laying Petroleum pipe lines, and other utility services provider, having presence in Pan Africa and Middle East.  CCWP – 2 Project, is for Qatar Petroleum. The project includes Laying of GRP line of dia ranging up to 3.5 Mtr for providing a common cooling Sea Water for different stations for heat dissipation.

I had to ensure periodical repair and maintenance of all equipment, which were assigned to me. It was my responsibility to make sure equipment were available in proper working condition as per the work schedule. I had to implement systems for preventive and break down maintenance to ensure availability of equipment all the time. To maintain records of equipment availability, productivity, operating cost, maintenance cost, availability of spares with minimum possible inventory level, break down hours as per the quality standards set by the company. To raise material requisition for the parts of different equipment running in the site as well as following up the requested parts with procurement department.

Periodical repair & maintenance of earthmoving equipment like Cat loaders, D-8 dozers, Komatsu Graders & Cat Excavators, Side booms, Kato mobile cranes, Tippers of Man, Hino, Mack Renault etc. Back-hoe loaders of JCB, Water tankers of Man, Lincoln welding machines, Atlas-Copco compressors, Toyota 3t vehicles and pick-ups as per the standards of PDO.

Responsible for supervising repair of engine, hydraulics, transmission etc. for above earth moving equipment, gear box, clutch, transmission and engines for above transport vehicles in the site workshop. Responsible for raising parts requisition and co-ordinating with stores in maintaining minimum inventory and maximum availability of fast moving parts for all above equipment and vehicles.

I was responsible for forecasting the services & repair activities for all above equipment. Also for optimum utilization and availability of all equipment for the site use and carry out inspection of above equipment from time to time for the road worthiness and to arrange a third party to inspect the above for the fitness standards set by PDO.

Achievement:

Responsible or raising requisition for parts and follow up with stores, preparing & maintaining the repair orders in the log book, forecasting maintenance schedules, monitoring consumption of parts, lubricant, fuel etc. for each equipment on monthly basis, percentage of availability of equipment etc.

Responsibility for conducting training for operators and drivers on safe handling of equipment. Includes daily checks, observation of different parts like boom, stick, chassis for cracks, oil leaks engine temperature etc. reporting of problems, safe driving practice etc.
