My name is Gaea Sukumar and I am a graduate law student (B.A. L.L.B. – Hons.) at Symbiosis Law School, Pune (2018-2023 batch).

I was shortlisted for the interview stage for the Linklaters India Vacation Scheme over applicants from different universities across the nation. I am currently interning with Ronin Legal. I have interned with Tier-1 and Tier 2 law firms in India, including the Corporate Team at S&R Law Offices, Nishith Desai Associates (received a call-back), Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan (received a call-back), Khaitan & Co., Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. and Bharucha & Partners. Additionally, I have done two internships with Sarvada Legal (after receiving a call-back) in their competition law practice. I have previously done three legal internships at the Madras High Court and Family Court; and a research internship under Symbiosis Law School, Pune.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I have also represented my university at the international rounds of the 62nd Edition of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, 2021. I have had the good fortune of ranking the 125th best speaker in the World (top 6.6%). My team's applicant memorial ranked 37th in the World (top 6%). We were also adjudged runners-up for the King & Spalding Spirit of Jessup award.

Additionally, I have 2 paper publications, one of which deals with merger laws in India. I have also enjoyed building a debating career representing my university in the Indian and international debating circuit. I have been adjudged finalist, semi-finalist and quarter-finalist in numerous debating tournaments. I have also been one of the top 10 and 15 individual best speakers in many debates.

I would like to use this job as an opportunity to develop my passion for the field and to contribute to this organization with my ability to think innovatively and proficiently. I would like to learn as much as I can and assist however I can by effectively contributing to your organization. I pride myself on my ability to be articulate, use my diverse vocabulary, produce qualitative research and solve problems efficiently with my innovative thinking. I also believe that I have strong and effective communication skills and am time efficient.
