My name is Asghar AMANPOUR and I have received my PhD in the Food Biotechnology Department, University of Cukurova, Turkey. Now, I am writing to apply for any suitable position in your organization. I am currently holding the position of Assistant Professor in the Nutrition and Dietetics Department of Health Science Faculty at the Istanbul Biruni University of Turkey, where my research has focused primarily on the food chemistry, biochemistry, functional and nutraceutical foods along with their effects on human health.
As can be seen in my attached curriculum vitae, my background deeply involves working with instrumental devices such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), gas chromatography- flame ionization detector (GC-FID), GC-MS-Olfactometry (GC-MS-O), high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry-mass spectrometry (LC-MS-MS) to identify the
volatile profile, aroma-active components and phenolic compounds of foods as well as non-thermal treatment techniques, especially innovative non-thermal plasma treatment on foods.
During my doctorate, I conducted research in Italy and Belgium at different times. Till now, I managed to publish 24 SCI papers and 2 papers in reputable journals on different foods such as oils, dairy products, seeds, snacks, pulses, coffee, tea, fruit and fruit juice, medicinal plants, spices, sausage, and meat. I have published two book chapters and my other three studies are under peer review in SCI journals.
Besides, I have the language knowledge and skills in English, Azerbaijani, Turkish and Persian in advanced level as well as Italian and Arabic in basic level.
