Currently I’ve been assigned to new position as Lead of intelligence enterprise capabilities starting from 1st June 2017, with focus on BI, analytics, and big data, during which I had assigned as pre-sales engineers BI, big data, and analytics opportunities.
Duties and responsibilities:

• Ensure that the project is delivered within the financial and quality requirements of the Business.
• Estimate and plan projects from start to finish, with built in contingencies.
• Manage, monitor and motivate the cross functional team assigned to the project including the end users.

2) Head of applications - June 97 – Jan 14
Juma Al Majid is one of the biggest group companies in UAE, running multi business lines such as
automotive, trading, contracting, manufacturing, property management, spare parts and services, performing their business using oracle E-business suite version 12.1.3.
I started my career with the group in 1997 as a programmer, building the career experience, moving up through normal IT hierarchy (programmersenior programmer analyst programmer system analyst business analyst head of applications from 2006 till 2013)
Business lines that have experience based on application management responsibilities are finance, trading, FMCG, Automotive, Services and spare parts, manufacturing, projects, education (school and college), library management systems, legal and finance.
Head of applications responsibilities:
• Applications manager, handle the support department to meet the business requirement
• Responsible for all applications in the production environment.
• Responsible for insure the fulfillment of the users’ needs, maintain schedule for support personnel, and the coordination between them
• Manage the business requirements along with IT solutions delivery.
• Monitor and analyze business requirements to insure continuous improvement and organizing functional rotations.
• Implement and maintain documentation standards for all support functions
• Implement the relationship between support department and other IT departments
• Planning and organizing allocation of resources within the Support group and amongst Business IT specialists, and manage the knowledge transfer required. Ensure team members are able to deputize effectively, especially in cases of crisis situations.
• Standardize the solutions to feed a knowledge base which is ultimately published to the support team as well as the business users.
• Planning for continuous review & improvement to the Application Support processes and procedures (within ITIL framework). Ensure application specialist training programmes are held for power users on new developments and functionalities.
• Manage the applications recovery as part of business continuity, availability and health check management.
• Organizing centre of excellence for the applications’ functionalities and its usage to ensure workarounds are provided to ensure uninterrupted business operation and participate in new system implementation and solution design. Manage incident and problem profiles handed over by problem management to the support team; ensure that corrective action is taken to avoid recurrence in future.
• Change control management
• Manage, monitor and create KPIs at the department as well as the staff level, review quarter bases at department level and create initiatives/plan if required.
• AMC and SLA management for the applications, including coordination and communication with the suppliers.
• Plan projects in order to accomplish its goals within constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards
• Schedule tasks, deadlines and milestones for all stakeholders and resources
• Act as Account Manager for potential and corporate clients; handle Account Manager duties for other clients
• Managing the business intelligence projects by innovating products that help business professionals to make smart decisions
Projects involved
1) Juma Al Majid Group implementation using oracle application ERP, where I was responsible as team leader of contracting business line, coordinating the requirement between implementers and users, participating in the implementation, responsible for unify the contracting business processes using business key users, project was 18 months period, implementation was rolled out in three stages with total of 9 strategic business units.
2) Data analysis project, project involved with multiple business lines using tool of QlikView, it’s business intelligence software, that using the concept of multi dimensions data view, with features, which end up with applications helping the decision makers in a business line to follow up business activities, performance, productivity, what if analysis, I built following applications dashboards (call center, pre-sales, sales, stock management, debtors, profit and loss, chairman dashboards and other non-profit businesses such as charity and education organizations such college of Islamic and Arabic studies and National charity schools )
3) Juma Al Majid – EPS system, the company is contracting business line in the field of technologies (electrical boards, lab machines for collages…etc), I was responsible for implementing the business cycle of contracting using oracle project costing, billing and management modules, which was on the version of oracle application 11i (10.5.8)
4) Juma Al Majid Concrete product plant, Factory for concrete products (ex. Pre-cast, block, interlocks, hollow core...etc), I was responsible for implementing the business cycle of contracting business line using oracle application modules of project costing, billing and management modules, which was on the version of oracle application 11i (11.5.10)
5) Al Majid contracting LLC, the company is contracting business line, I was responsible for implementing the same using oracle project costing, billing and management modules, which was on the version of oracle application 11i (11.5.10)
6) Upgrade oracle application project from 11.5.8 to 11.5.10 and applying CU2 to 11.5.10.2, the project team was responsible to study the full changes of the application due to the upgrade and conduct demo training for the changes as well as the setup required for the upgrade, I was responsible for the oracle application project family modules.
7) BS7799 implementation, the project implemented the IT security standard of BS7799, I was responsible to cover the requirement of the implementers related to the support department including risk assessment, asset repository, statement of applicability, procedures and policies, audit and change management control.
8) Oracle application – daily business intelligence, I was responsible to implement the oracle DBI and setup the project modules pages including oracle DBI for contract management in addition to project profitability.
9) Project’s estimation system, the project was fully customized, to run under oracle application, the purpose of the system is to handle the processes of estimation prior of submitting the customer quotation, I was responsible to study and gather the requirements and provide the business and technical documentations to the development department
10) Project’s submittal tracking system, the role was project manager with two team members, the project was fully customized linked with oracle project foundation modules the purpose of the same is to track all drawing submittals issued by the engineering department to the customers or other departments, I was responsible to study and gather the requirements and provide the business and technical documentations to the development department.
11) Al Majid investment LLC, the role was Analyst/ developer, it’s in-house system include accounting with sub ledger of shares stock management handling all investment transactions (buy, sell, free…etc), application including modules of GL, AP, AR and shares stock management.
12) Juma Al Majid center for heritage and cultural, the role was project manager with four team members, the nature of the center is library and other cultural activities, where the purpose of the system is to handle all library cycles, from acquisition up to customer services.
13) Upgrade oracle application project from 11.5.10 to 12.1.3, the project period was 6 months of 15 resources, I was the team leader of oracle project family, responsibilities was to ensure the data integrity before/ after the upgrade using control report, all pre& post-requisites, post upgrade setup, UAT and test scripts, and new features that applicable to be implemented.
