Duties and Responsibilities
• Interacts and communicate effectively with client, architects and consultants.
• Read, understand and interpret structural master plan, structural layouts, details and material specifications.
• Review shop drawings and report any inconsistency.
• Prepare cost estimates and bill of quantities/or material take-offs.
• Coordinate work with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, architectural, etc.
• Monitor concreting works and check actual slump and temperature prior to concreting.
• Inspect fabrication and installation of reinforcing bars, steel and formworks for miscellaneous foundations, ground beams, columns, beams, and slabs.
• Inspect sub-contractors’ work on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) and ensure all the materials used and work performed are in accordance with specifications.
• Supervise day-to-day management of the site and monitor labor force and record subcontractors’ work progress.
• Check and monitor that finishing works such as plaster, ceramic, paint, marbles, gypsum, etc. are in accordance with specifications.
• Prepare purchase order schedule for equipment and construction materials
• Set out site boundaries and ensure that platform levels are in accordance with the project requirement.
• Resolve and rectify any unexpected technical challenges, construction difficulties, and other unforeseen problems that may arise.
• Ensure that construction works are completed in accordance with the municipality/authority requirements; i.e. drainage, Etisalat, road, clean out, water and utilities, interface inspections, commissioning works and final inspection
• Check and validate work of subcontractors and make recommendation for payment.
