Organization formerly known as Hiab Middle East LLC part of Cargotec Group of companies. Container handling (Kalmar Industries AB), load handling (HIAB) and marine cargo handling (MacGregor) business units formed Cargotec. Company is listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange However, the businesses within Cargotec have much longer histories and have been formed through a series of mergers and acquisitions over several decades. Hiab products, service and spare parts are used in on-road transport and delivery. The product portfolio includes loader cranes, demountable, forestry cranes, recycling cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, and tail lifts.
Position Held: Financial Controller (MEA Region) Reporting To: Chairman of the Company. Responsibilities include:
- Authorized signatory for bank transactions
- Collecting, interpreting and reviewing financial information
- Producing financial reports related to budgets, forecasting, account payables, account receivables, expenses etc. Reporting to management and stakeholders. Developing long-term business plans based on these reports.
- Reviewing, monitoring and managing budgets. Developing strategies that work to minimise financial risk.
- Make necessary schedules and provisions for Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reporting.
- Making cash flow forecasting.
- Hedge currency from time to time, international transfers, interest calculations & carry out bank and intercompany deposits
- Implemented SAP and SAGE; Handle and resolve ERP software related issues and training people time to time on system usage
- Taking care of Export and import L/C’s, document through bank, Guarantees and their follow ups.
- Taking care of Project costing. Preparing reports on the Original estimate, current estimate and Actual cost incurred on projects.
- Inventory planning and control. Responsible for monitoring stock levels and performing inventory reconciliations
- Involved and implemented company policies and procedures, sales and purchase process and actively engaged and successfully achieved cost reduction through cost reduction strategy.
- Manage the Asset register and charge depreciation on monthly basis.
- Credit control and overdue analysis.
- Assisting Auditors on the interim & yearly audit.
- Handling HR activities, responsible for WPS payroll, employee bonus and end of service benefits and maintaining Leave Register of the employees and updating their personnel files.

- MIS REPORT on weekly basis.
- Payables, Export L/C’s, Document through Banks, Guarantees and their follow ups.
- Authorized signatory for bank. Monitor bank statements on daily basis. Prepare monthly bank reconciliation. Reconciliations of all accounts (banks, inter-company accounts etc.) without delay to issue, updated & correct reports and handling petty cash.
- Carry out the required schedules for Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reporting. Verification of Expenses, book local suppliers reconciliation and local payments ; & ensure accurate preparation of cheques
- Customer & vendor overdue analysis and Book Purchases (stock and third party shipment).
- Intercompany and international payments through bank transfer letters/Demand Drafts and ensure that proper approval from respective department heads are obtained for paying all invoices.
- Prepare monthly provisions
- Assist the Finance Director for yearly budgeting & finalization of A/C and assist Auditors for interim & yearly audit.
- Responsibility of payroll, employee bonus calculations and maintaining Leave and Gratuity Register for all employees
- General & bank correspondence & maintaining various confidential files.
