I am writing to you in relation to the recently advertised Physical Education position within your school. I have been a teacher in Lucan Community College, Dublin, Ireland for the past 5 years and believe I have obtained a wealth of knowledge from these past 5 years that I will be able to bring with me to your school. I also hold certification that entitles me to teach Mathematics which I have achieved whilst studying part time from 2015-2017. I have also been teaching CSPE SPHE and Health Education whilst also taking on the role of Head of our PE Department for the past 2 years. I have attached my curriculum vitae that highlights my education to date and suitability to teach Physical Education in a post-primary setting and would be grateful if you would take the time to review it and consider me for this employment opportunity.

I have had the experience of teaching at both primary and post-primary school level in my time in third level education and feel I have gained invaluable knowledge as regards my abilities as a teacher. I believe my time in Lucan Community College has allowed me gain invaluable experience and has developed my teaching to the high standard I believe it to be currently at. I received continued support from my colleagues and played a major part the development of the current PE program in the school. I work well as part of a team but am also very driven when individual challenges arise. I have a very strong work ethic and will always do my best to cater for all levels and abilities of my students. I have been exposed to teaching students of many different ability levels in mainstream schools and I have also gained experience of teaching students with disabilities and other special educational needs.

I believe I am very well suited to the job on offer as I am very passionate about my work as a Physical Education teacher and feel I would fit in well to the strong teaching ethic that is evident in your school from the information I have seen on your schools website. Promotion of lifelong learning is a key aspect of my teaching goals and I feel I fit the mould of a teacher to enhance this within every aspect of my teaching. I am also a very enthusiastic sporting person and will be very willing to get involved in any extra-curricular activities and sport teams.
