 Currently, Anwar is an associate prof of economics at Yarmouk University, Irbid, Jordan. In the previous Job, Anwar was the director of Industrial Studies & Policies Department in the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC). It is one of the main research arms for the General Secretariat of the GCC Council. Anwar was responsible for providing intellectual leadership, setting direction and guiding the work of the Industrial Studies & Policies Department of GOIC. He advised GOIC’s leadership on economic strategy, policy, and related matters. Anwar assumed the overall responsibility for the design and effective implementation of research projects carried out by the department and properly leads the Department’s contributions to the GCC industrial strategy.
 In an extensive career spanning about 30 years, Anwar has obtained wide experience in economics research and teaching, economic policy & Data analysis, and has held management positions in both private and public sectors. He has worked with local and international institutions like the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), GFA Consulting Group- Germany GMPH (GFA), UNDP, FAFO, Oxford University, the University of Texas, General Secretariat for Development Planning in Qatar, various government ministries, Yarmouk University, Jordan University of Sciences & Technology, and Al Albeit University in Jordan, Ahmad Ben Mohamad Military College (Qatar). As well as Qatar University. Anwar has authored and co-authored more than 50 published and unpublished papers and research projects in various subjects. Furthermore, he has supervised around 30 master and Ph.D. Thesis.
