Pedro Caracol
Dear Sir, dear Madam,
With this letter, I would like to introduce myself. I am a trilingual civil engineer, looking for a new challenge in Belgium. As you can see in my resume, I have experience in construction works, telecommunication, (renewable) energy & hydraulic systems.
Until May 2019 I’ve been working as Engineer Project Manager for a Portuguese company based in Belgium. I’ve been in charge of different projects from the execution until the final invoice is sent such as: Bellewaerde Aquapark, Howest Hogeschool and Vives Hogeschool.
In December 2017, I left my job as a Civil Engineer & Project Manager at Constructel in France to join my fiancée in Belgium. In this function I took on both a strategic and an operational role for the construction of fibre networks in the region of Savoie/Rhone-Alpes. My scope ranged from project management - with a focus on planning in the right teams after studying the working areas- over budget control to improving operations. I was given a great opportunity to grow in people management skills as I was running 4 teams.
Before that, I worked at Ferreia S.A. in Lisbon, leading challenging renovation projects of old palaces into retirement homes. Being in charge of several teams and subcontractors, I had the opportunity to develop skills in different areas of engineering and in project management. Projects ranged from strategic consulting to day-to-day execution. I also reported directly to the Mayors office.
As a Master student in Civil Engineering, I had the opportunity to work for closely with the municipality of Lisbon and I stayed there after finishing my master years. In this function, I mainly focussed on hydraulic structures, water pumps, dykes, etc. as a junior project manager in civil engineering.
I speak Portuguese, French and English and I’ve got a decent level of Spanish.
