I am currently enrolled in the KHDA approved IPGCTP (Primary Years Level 7 (UK) Level 8 (UAE) awarded by Liverpool Hope University through Tellal Institute, Dubai. As a school centered initial teacher training programme I have gained practical experience in both British and International Baccalaureate curriculum.
I am a firm believer in an inspiring learning journey for all students, including both academic and social skills. During my placement year to date I have had the invaluable and enjoyable opportunity to work closely with fellow teachers, teaching assistants, inclusion teams and of course students. I have become involved in every aspect of school life having the opportunity to assist with extra-curricular activities, field trips, in school events as well as practical experience of teaching, planning, assessment for learning, classroom routine and positive behavior management in line with school policies. Recently I was entrusted to cover my placement class for three weeks while teachers attended residential trips, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I see education as a lifelong learning journey to be enjoyed. I love to inspire young minds, increasing knowledge and experience in all aspects of life in today’s ever expanding world. I believe students learn best when a subject is taught in an engaging, interactive and inspiring way allowing self-exploration and this will be an important part of my future classroom culture.
I am committed to creating a fully inclusive learning space and this year I have been directly involved with creating content and support for SEND and EAL students in my placement class. I have also taken time to observe each year group in regards to SEND and EAL support while liaising with the inclusion team and meeting with learning support assistants.
Alongside my time within school I attend weekly seminars at Tellal, this course has given me the immersive, essential practical experience with theoretical knowledge to become a confident and inspiring future teacher.
Along with my educational skills I bring a positive and creative energy to everything I do. I come from a theatrical background, have extensive experience in music both DJing and playing the saxophone and I hope to incorporate these artistic talents into school life.
