With over 30 years of experience in the field of engineering with UN and other organizations. I am ready to take new responsibility as Facilities Manager with UNOPs, South Sudan. I have specialized in civil work, HVAC, Generator, electrical & refrigeration fields. I completed 3 years specialized associate engineering diploma with majors in electrical, HVAC & refrigeration fields. I also hold bachelor of Law degree from Federal Urdu University Karachi.
I am currently working as International UN Volunteer (UNV) in UNMISS Rumbek, Lake state, South Sudan. My responsibilities include engineering field i.e. electrical installation, air condition installation, refrigeration installation, power plants, power distribution & distribution panels, ventilation, documentation, complaints, supervision of local staff, inventory, store keeping, demanding process, schedule and preventive maintenance of equipment and buildings.
During my stay with Pakistan Air-Force, I have been planning, scheduling and preparing projects for electrical installation, electrical power plant installation, electrical system for buildings and camps, maintaining recognized standards and regulations pertaining to safety and quality. I have been diagnosing technical faults and carried-out rectification of malfunctioning air conditioning, refrigeration and electrical & power generation system (DGSET).
My previous work required me to manage preventive maintenance along with performing diagnostics on HVAC mechanical systems due to that I have developed the expertise to work effectively in this field. My mechanical/electrical abilities are outstanding. Moreover, I possess keen knowledge of the tools and equipment used for job related to HVAC and residence/commercial Electrical.
I have up-to-date knowledge of new technology relating to electrical that affect the operational area for which I am responsible. I possess excellent analytical skills which help me identify key issues and propose solutions according to the needs, While performing equally well in individual capacity, I am a team player and enjoy working in multi-cultural environments. I have excellent communication and strong report writing skills. I am proficient in all computer related skills and am familiar with UN and other relevant computer soft wares.
I use a systematic approach to work and monitor my own progress against objectives and work plans and take corrective actions if necessary. One of my strengths is being receptive to new ideas and working methods and the ability to adapt efficiently to changing priorities and demands. I understand and respect cultural and gender issues and keep those in mind during my work. I have extensive experience of working with people of different cultures, gender and backgrounds. I can work effectively in collaboration with team members to achieve results. I have the ability to work productively under stress and in difficult environment and I try to stay positive in the face of challenges. I seek feedback to improve my skills, knowledge and performance and I am always willing to learn from previous experience and mistakes and apply the lessons to improve myself.
