Effective communication has always been a major part of my everyday life and I have consciously improved my English language proficiency (writing and speaking).
I worked at Abiola Comprehensive High School as an English Teacher. I was charged with the responsibility of preparing lesson notes, administering assignments, tests and examinations. I also ensured that students were able to comfortably use English language in communicating with their peers and in other areas of their lives. I endeavoured to build a good rapport with students and encourage them to learn new words everyday as a means to expand their vocabulary.
I underwent my National Youth Service Corps at Wisdom Spring Montessori School where I worked as an assistant to the Head of the Administrative department. I was also in charge of entrance examinations grading and vetting of students report cards. In addition, I solely supervised 2017 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and earned great recommendations from my supervisors. Occasionally, I was the first point of contact for parents, and had to manage heated situations to avoid escalation. At the end of my service year, I was commended for my maturity in handling of issues involving concerned parents.
Prior to my NYSC experience, I worked at Cleggs Secondary School for three (3) months as an undergraduate teacher. During this period, I taught English Language to Senior Secondary School II and III classes. Within this short time, I was able to make a lasting impact on the students and encouraged many of them to look forward to their higher education. As an undergraduate, I was also able to carry out my duties and provide actionable solutions when in difficult situations.
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts and Education degree in English language from University of Lagos. I am also registered under the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.
The importance of good and effective communication skill cannot be over emphasized. I believe that my background has provided me with the experience that would be useful to further drive satisfaction for your organization, while embarking on the journey of self-development.
