In charge of the vessel and navigational watch;
Overriding authority and responsibility for making decisions and taking all necessary actions regarding safety & security pollution prevention and the efficient operation of the vessel as per ISM Code, QHSE, QSMS, ISPS Code, SOLAS & MARPOL;
Manoeuvring and handling of the ship on arrival and departure to/from port begin and end of Sea Passage as well as approaching to berth or anchorage area.
Prepare Passage Plan for expecting voyage;
Approaching to coral reef areas as per Passage Plan and insure safe diving / snorkelling / ROV operations;
Control safely tender boat and ZODIAC boat operations / manoeuvring;
Ensure that the vessel remains within compliance of the requirements of all applicable rules, laws, regulations, guidelines and practices of good seamanship at all times;
Oversee maintenance of the ship as for deck and engine, check maintenance plan;
To assess training needs of the ship’s staff and provide appropriate training to ensure applying safe working practice and the ship's operation in an environmentally friendly manner;
To ensure that the crew follow the Safe Working Practice Code, the ISM Code, the ISPS Code, control the ship’s crew in drills;
Motivate the crew to observe the company policies, procedures and instructions by demonstrating knowledge of, and a positive attitude to the company QSMS;
Issue Master’s Standing Orders related safety of navigation passage and/or others issues if necessary for Chief and Second Officers and /or other crew.
