Job Summary:
The Hotel Internship Program provides a hands-on learning experience in hotel operations, offering interns the opportunity to gain valuable industry insights. You will rotate through various departments, learning the intricacies of hospitality, customer service, and hotel management. This program is designed to give you a solid foundation for a future career in hospitality by immersing you in day-to-day hotel functions and Marriott’s core business practices.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily hotel operations across multiple departments, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and guest services.
- Participate in guest interactions, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Shadow department managers to understand key responsibilities such as inventory management, staff scheduling, and operational procedures.
- Assist with event coordination and support meetings, conferences, and other guest activities.
- Help maintain cleanliness and order in public areas, guest rooms, and service spaces.
- Support kitchen and dining operations, including food preparation, setup, and serving when required.
- Learn how to process guest reservations, check-ins, and check-outs while adhering to hotel policies and procedures.
- Assist in compiling daily reports, tracking guest feedback, and implementing service improvements.
- Contribute to marketing and promotional activities to enhance guest experiences.
- Collaborate with team members and management to ensure smooth hotel operations and guest satisfaction.
- Take initiative to identify areas of improvement and assist in enhancing service delivery.
Requirements:
- Must be a current college or university student pursuing a degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field.
- Strong interest in the hospitality industry with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Capable of standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks as required.
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior customer service or hospitality experience is a plus but not required.
- Must be able to work well independently and as part of a diverse team.
