Job Summary:

As a Sous Chef at Atlantis Dubai, you will manage and organize the kitchen team to ensure the delivery of consistent food quality while creating exceptional dining experiences for guests. You will uphold safety guidelines and adhere to the standard operating procedures set by the Executive Chef.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily food preparation and service activities.
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards, focusing on presentation and flavor.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and culinary excellence.
  • Assist in menu planning, development of daily specials, and inventory management.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety standards in compliance with health regulations.
  • Monitor food costs and assist in controlling waste to maximize profitability.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to innovate and improve existing recipes and processes.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on food items to ensure consistency and adherence to recipes.
  • Manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak times.

 

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Culinary Arts or a related field.
  • Minimum of 36 months of professional culinary experience in high-volume environments.
  • Strong knowledge of various cuisines and techniques, with a particular focus on fine dining.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a 5-star hotel or upscale restaurant.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a diverse team.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in food safety and sanitation practices.

 

Level of Education:

  • Diploma in Culinary Arts or related field.

Work Hours:

  • Full-time position, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Experience in Months:

  • Minimum of 36 months in a similar culinary role.
