Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sommelier to join our exceptional Food and Beverage Team at Nobu, Atlantis. In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing our guests' dining experiences through expert wine recommendations and impeccable service.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Wine Manager to update and maintain an extensive and diverse wine list.
  • Order wines and manage inventory, ensuring proper rotation of stock to maintain quality and freshness.
  • Provide expert wine pairing suggestions to complement the menu offerings and enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Train and educate restaurant staff on wine knowledge, serving techniques, and proper wine storage.
  • Ensure wines are served at the optimal temperature and in appropriate glassware, maintaining high presentation standards.
  • Engage with guests to understand their preferences and recommend wines, creating personalized experiences.
  • Identify and seize opportunities to upsell beverages, contributing to overall sales goals.
  • Conduct regular tastings and develop knowledge of new and emerging wine trends.
  • Monitor and maintain the wine cellar, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Stay current with industry trends and continuously improve wine knowledge.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sommelier in a luxury restaurant or high-end hotel environment.
  • Level 2 qualification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET); Level 3 is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of global wine regions, grape varieties, and food pairing principles.
  • Experience in preparing wine lists, conducting staff training, and managing wine inventory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests and team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining composure and professionalism.
  • International experience in a similar role is a plus.

 

Level of Education:
Diploma or equivalent certification in hospitality or related field preferred.

Work Hours:
Full-time, including weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as required.

Experience in Months:
24+ months of relevant experience in luxury dining environments.
