Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Shift Engineer to join our Engineering team at Crowne Plaza® Dubai Festival City. The role involves maintaining hotel facilities to ensure optimal guest satisfaction, performing repairs, and supporting ongoing maintenance projects. This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering a high standard of service in a luxury hotel environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance of hotel facilities, addressing any issues promptly.
- Complete work orders as requested by the Chief Engineer to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the implementation and execution of the hotel’s preventative maintenance program.
- Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks in guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities.
- Ensure plant rooms are cleaned, operational, and comply with safety standards.
- Monitor and maintain pool chemical levels in accordance with regulations, ensuring cleanliness of the surrounding area.
- Inspect laundry and kitchen equipment, troubleshoot faults, and complete necessary repairs.
- Conduct lighting checks throughout the property and replace faulty bulbs.
- Collaborate with other departments to prioritize maintenance tasks that impact guest experience.
- Identify and initiate project work required throughout the hotel.
- Respond promptly to department requests for maintenance support, ensuring minimal disruption to guest services.
- Adhere to hotel safety standards, ensuring all maintenance activities comply with regulations.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role within a five-star hotel or luxury organization.
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and technical proficiency.
- Certifications: Trade license, HACCP training certificate, or relevant technical certifications are highly desirable.
- Flexibility: Ability to adjust work schedules based on guest priorities and operational needs.
- Physical Ability: Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various hotel areas.
