Job Summary:
The Senior Captain at Sofra BLD, Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi, is responsible for assisting the Service Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the All Day Dining restaurant. This role ensures exceptional guest service, efficient operations, and team motivation, maintaining the high standards for which Shangri-La is renowned.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the restaurant team to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
- Ensure guests are welcomed warmly and their dining experience is seamless from arrival to departure.
- Guide guests through the menu, providing recommendations based on their preferences.
- Ensure guest orders are processed efficiently and accurately, coordinating between service and kitchen teams.
- Monitor and maintain service standards, ensuring compliance with hotel protocols and brand expectations.
- Resolve guest complaints or concerns in a professional and empathetic manner, seeking solutions promptly.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior staff to ensure continuous service improvements.
- Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and proper setup of the restaurant at all times.
- Handle opening and closing duties, including staff briefings and task assignments.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure the timely delivery of food, adhering to quality control standards.
- Monitor inventory and supplies to ensure the restaurant is well-stocked for daily operations.
- Support the Service Manager in managing reservations, guest feedback, and overall restaurant operations.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 24 months of experience in a supervisory role within a luxury dining or hospitality environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- A guest-centric approach with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
- Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and resolve guest issues effectively.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask under pressure.
- Passion for delivering high-quality food and service experiences.
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including inventory management and cost control.
Level of Education:
Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent.
Work Hours:
Full-time, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Experience in Months:
24+ months of relevant experience in luxury dining or hospitality.
