Job Summary:
The Room Service Order Taker at Shangri-La Dubai is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests by taking and processing room service orders. This role requires a friendly demeanor, thorough knowledge of the menu, and the ability to coordinate service efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Answer Room Service telephones and promptly respond to guest requests in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Take food and beverage orders from guests and accurately input them into the point-of-sale system.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the menu, including food and beverage options, ongoing promotions, and special offerings.
- Provide recommendations to guests based on their preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Coordinate all service requirements related to room service, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Communicate with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
- Handle guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism, striving to resolve any issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the room service area, including menus and equipment.
- Assist with inventory management of food and beverage supplies to ensure availability.
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance service skills and product knowledge.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 12 months of experience in a similar role within luxury hospitality or a fine dining environment.
- Passion for food and beverage with the ability to create memorable guest experiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in the local language is an advantage.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset, willing to assist colleagues when needed.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a proactive attitude.
- Previous experience in a luxury restaurant or a 5-star hotel setting is preferred.
Level of Education:
Diploma or degree in hospitality management or a related field.
Work Hours:
Full-time, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Experience in Months:
12+ months of relevant experience in hospitality.
