Job Summary:
The Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily restaurant and bar operations, ensuring high standards of service, and assisting with menu planning. The role involves maintaining sanitation standards, managing staff, and ensuring customer satisfaction while maximizing financial performance. The supervisor plays a key role in training staff, leading the team, and ensuring operational goals are met.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations in restaurants, bars, and room service areas.
- Supervise and support staff, ensuring smooth service during peak hours.
- Maintain service and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with food handling and local liquor laws.
- Assist with menu planning and coordinate with kitchen staff on special menus and offerings.
- Ensure staffing levels meet operational needs while balancing financial objectives.
- Lead and train the food and beverage team, providing coaching and performance feedback.
- Resolve guest complaints and ensure customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service.
- Handle daily financial tasks, including invoicing, purchasing, and tracking revenue.
- Monitor and manage inventory, ordering supplies as needed to maintain operations.
- Enforce compliance with company policies, standards, and safety regulations.
- Assist servers and hosts during high-demand periods to maintain service flow.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless guest service across the property.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; 4 years of food and beverage or hospitality experience, or 2 years with a related degree.
- Proven experience managing restaurant or bar operations, with knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and collaboration within the team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, resolve issues, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of sanitation, safety, and food handling regulations.
- Ability to monitor and control inventory and manage financial records.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods.
