Job Summary:
The Paymaster & General Cashier at Shangri-La Dubai is responsible for managing payroll processes and cashiering functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity and accountability.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll accurately and on time in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage the general cashiering function, including cash handling, deposits, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain necessary financial reports, including daily cash position and general cashier reports.
- Monitor and record daily cash transactions, ensuring compliance with financial protocols.
- Handle foreign exchange transactions and liaise with banking institutions as required.
- Ensure accuracy in all financial documentation and records, addressing discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end financial statements and audits.
- Provide support in budget forecasting and financial planning activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Uphold strict confidentiality regarding all financial transactions and employee payroll information.
Requirements:
- Strong numerical aptitude and a passion for finance and accounting.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Previous experience in a finance department of a 5-star luxury international hotel or a similar environment is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a critical thinking mindset.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
Level of Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; additional certifications in accounting or finance are a plus.
Work Hours:
Full-time position with flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Experience in Months:
24+ months of relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably in the hospitality industry.
