Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and creative Pastry Chef to join Jumeirah Saadiyat Island Resort. The role focuses on managing the pastry and bakery section, contributing to culinary innovation, and ensuring efficient operation aligned with financial goals and luxury standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and management of the pastry department’s budget.
- Control food costs and ensure the outlets' operational budgets are met, maximizing profitability.
- Lead the pastry and bakery contributions across all outlets, working closely with Executive Chefs to maintain high standards.
- Develop and implement innovative recipes and techniques to continuously enhance pastry offerings.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with Jumeirah’s policies and Abu Dhabi municipality requirements.
- Oversee the opening and operations of the new Cake Shop project.
- Upgrade and maintain the Departmental SOP Manual, detailing standards, policies, and procedures.
- Provide leadership and training to the pastry team, fostering a culture of excellence and creativity.
- Monitor and adapt to guest preferences, seasonal ingredients, and emerging industry trends to deliver exceptional pastry experiences.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in luxury hotel pastry kitchens in progressively senior roles.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate pastry chefs and bakers.
- Proven track record of innovative pastry techniques and culinary creativity.
- Strong understanding of financial management, including budget control and cost management.
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Level of Education:
Culinary degree or relevant professional qualification in pastry arts.
Work Hours:
Full-time, flexible hours based on operational requirements.
Experience in Months:
A minimum of 60-84 months of experience in luxury pastry roles.
