Manager, External Communications

Job Purpose

Manage the day-to-day operations of the External Communication ensuring provision of an efficient communications program across the Group to support and enable targeted storytelling and stakeholder engagement. Manage day-to-day public relations and reputation risk management in order to effectively promote and increase awareness on the business operations to external stakeholders, and proactively protect the Group’s reputation.



Develops effective communication mechanism and tools to build awareness of the Company’s external communication strategy, objectives and values.


Manages and the development of messages, content and narratives for external use, focused on the ADNOC Group business activities and achievements; ensures consistency and full sign off of relevant SMEs, senior OPCO staff and Business Line Communications.


Seeks out ADNOC group ‘stories’ and pitch communications content to ADNOC HQ. Develop specialized business content.


Provides effective supports for Group Communications to address day-to-day media inquiries (national/ international) by ensuring full connectivity with OPCO SVP and VPs and closely liaising with ADNOC Business Line Communications.


Assists OPCO CEO for any external communications to promote and protect ADNOC; ensures alignment in close collaboration with ADNOC Business Line Communications.


Manages development of English and Arabic content for digital / print and social media and ensure ADNOC approval & Supports the roll out and implementation of the revised brand guidelines and unified website across the ADNOC Group.


Identifies IC/brand leads in the company to work closely with the ADNOC Brand team on all related issues and communication.


Manages coordination with ADNOC HQ on external events focusing on brand management and the promotion of Company in e.g. ADIPEC, OTC, SOGAT.



Minimum Qualification


Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or equivalent.




Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills


12 years of experience in Corporate Communication covering Media Relations and PR functions, in a large organization, including 6 years of supervisory experience.


Sound knowledge and experience in the development and execution of corporate communication programs.


Strong knowledge of corporate communications methodologies and best practices.


Strong knowledge of public relations strategy development and implementation, and ability to devise strategies that drive business results.


Strong knowledge of reputation management techniques and concepts.


Knowledge of the Group’s operations and various sectors, and ability to lead the delivery of tailored corporate communication strategies in line with specific business requirements.


Strong written and verbal communication skills.
