DESCRIPTION

Amazon GCC Retail is looking for a customer centric Sr. Manager to lead our Retail Selection and Product Management business intelligence team. Data and Insights form the backbone for decision making for our division and we need a leader who can further drive analytical rigor and advance the maturity of the BI function. As a BI Manager, you will be expected to be an active voice in our leadership discussions as we make decisions on our roadmap based on the customer behavior, and business analytics dashboards and analyses you conceive and create. In parallel with the BI role he will also manage several workstreams of the selection program.

To be successful in this role you must be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big and be creative. In this role you will:

  • Lead and develop a team of analysts
  • Drive meetings with senior stakeholders to present insights, follow up metrics and assess impact
  • Uncover customer insights based on data analyses
  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing performance metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and partners to acquire data necessary to support reporting needs
  • Adopt and implement best practices in reporting and analysis including data integrity, analysis, validation and documentation
  • Design, build infrastructure, and maintain automated reporting, dashboards, and analyses to enable our team and stakeholders to self-service 80% of adhoc data needs, allowing you to focus on answering hard and ambiguous problems
  • Work closely with stakeholders to build and maintain the roadmap for business intelligence
  • Work closely with product managers to support business reporting needs for all product capabilities
  • Design and drive experiments to form actionable recommendations. Present to business leaders in both ad-hoc forums and routine monthly and weekly business reviews to drive decisions

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics, data engineering, business intelligence, or related fields
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in writing complex, highly-optimized SQL queries across large data sets.
  • Advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau, Quicksight, or similar BI tools
  • 2+ years of experience managing teams with data engineers, business intelligence engineers, software engineers, data scientists or other related roles
  • Excellent written and oral communication; able to express thoughts logically and concisely

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in a related field
  • Experience with statistical analysis, regression modeling and forecasting, time series analysis, data mining, financial analysis, dynamic pricing, demand modeling, game theory and customer/product segmentation
  • Proficiency with statistical/data modeling software packages (e.g. R, Python)
  • Experience with e-commerce, retail or marketing analytics would be an advantage.
