Job Summary:
The Kitchen Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing all kitchen equipment to ensure smooth operations across the hotel’s food and beverage outlets. This role supports the Engineering Department in providing consistent service to internal departments, ensuring that all equipment is functioning optimally and in compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular maintenance and repairs of kitchen equipment, including ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, and other appliances.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues related to kitchen systems.
- Assist in maintaining central plant systems related to kitchen operations.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment meets safety and health regulations.
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Coordinate with the food and beverage team to schedule repairs and avoid service interruptions.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Assist the Engineering Department in general building maintenance tasks when required.
- Ensure proper inventory management of kitchen-related tools and spare parts.
- Respond to emergency repair requests in a timely manner to minimize operational disruptions.
Requirements:
- Strong technical knowledge in electrical and mechanical engineering related to kitchen systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial kitchen equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, especially when collaborating with the food and beverage team.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to kitchen operations.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
Level of Education:
- Qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Building Management is desirable.
Work Hours:
- Flexible hours, with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Experience in Months:
- Minimum 24 months (2 years) of experience as a Technician in a hotel or 48 months (4 years) in a similar large building/complex with a central plant.
