Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team. In this role, you will work closely with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to create outstanding dishes while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and hygiene.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes, ensuring every plate is a culinary masterpiece.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and readily available.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Train, mentor, and inspire junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and innovate menu items, incorporating seasonal and local ingredients.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation, making necessary adjustments to meet high standards.
  • Participate in daily briefings and contribute ideas for special events or promotions.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene practices, including HACCP standards.
  • Assist with special projects, such as menu tastings, culinary competitions, or community events.
  • Provide support during service hours, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of all dishes.
  • Respond to guest feedback and requests to enhance their dining experience.

Requirements:

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience in a high-volume kitchen.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury hotel or upscale restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and cuisines.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for culinary innovation and presentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
  • Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for delivering memorable dining experiences and a love for food exploration.
