Job Summary:
The IT Assistant at One&Only The Palm is responsible for providing technical support and maintaining the IT infrastructure of the resort. This role involves troubleshooting issues related to hardware, software, and network systems, ensuring the smooth operation of hotel technologies, and supporting the Property Management System and other key platforms used in daily operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for Property Management Systems (PMS), with a focus on OPERA.
- Manage desktop systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Oversee and maintain the functionality of printers and ensure prompt troubleshooting for issues.
- Manage the Point of Sale (POS) systems, preferably Micros Symphony, ensuring seamless transactions.
- Troubleshoot network issues, including basic networking tasks and maintaining DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory services.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure all IT systems meet operational needs and standards.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on all IT equipment to prevent downtime.
- Assist with IT setup for events and guest needs, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information and guest data.
- Collaborate with external vendors for IT procurement and repairs as needed.
- Support hotel operations by ensuring the effective integration of IT systems with other departments.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on the proper use of IT systems.
- Ensure data security protocols are followed and assist with the implementation of cybersecurity measures.
- Assist with system upgrades and updates, minimizing disruption to hotel services.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Information Technology within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
- Strong understanding of Property Management Systems (preferably OPERA) and POS systems (preferably Micros Symphony).
- Proficient in desktop and printer management and troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of networking, including DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
- Experience working in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with a diverse clientele.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Team player with a proactive and problem-solving approach.
- Knowledge of hotel operations and the role of IT in enhancing guest experiences.
Level of Education:
Relevant degree or certification in Information Technology or a related field.
Work Hours:
Full-time, with flexibility required to support the needs of the resort.
Experience in Months:
Minimum 24 months (2 years) of experience in IT, preferably within a 5-star hotel or resort environment.
