Job Summary: Looking for HSE Officer in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE)
Job Key Details:
- Develop and implement company-wide health, safety as well as environmental policies, procedures and programs
- Carry out regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and evaluate compliance with safety regulations and standards
- Collaborate with department managers to identify specific safety and environmental requirements for each operational area
- Offer expert guidance and support to employees on matters related to health, safety and environmental issues
- Carry our risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures to minimize accidents, injuries and environmental impact
- Monitor workplace conditions, equipment as well as practices to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry best practices
- Investigate accidents, incidents as well as near-misses and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
- Review existing policies as well as measures and update according to legislation
- Develop and deliver training programs on safety procedures, emergency response as well as environmental protection
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, training and compliance activities
- Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity
- Support the development of OHS policies and programs
- Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics
- Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc
- Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
- Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
- Conduct any other related tasks as may be required
Job Qualifications and Experience
- The applicant must have relevant qualifications for this position
- Must have at least 2+ years of experience working as HSE officer or similar position
- In depth knowledge of legislation e.g. OSHA/EPA and procedures
- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Proficient in MS Office suite, good working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
- Certificate in occupational health and safety required
