Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the daily housekeeping operations. The ideal candidate will ensure the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall presentation of the hotel meet high standards, while supervising and supporting the housekeeping team to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assign daily housekeeping tasks to attendants.
- Issue keys and supplies to Housekeeping Attendants and monitor their usage.
- Handle special guest requests, such as VIP rooms, and ensure appropriate action is taken.
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas for cleanliness and adherence to standards using checklists.
- Conduct daily briefings with housekeeping staff and communicate special instructions or tasks.
- Verify check-out rooms and report them as vacant after thorough inspection.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies and equipment.
- Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed in guest rooms or public areas.
- Ensure lost and found items are properly recorded and handed over to the appropriate department.
- Supervise the cleaning and upkeep of guest rooms, corridors, and public spaces.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of housekeeping staff.
- Ensure housekeeping equipment is properly handled and maintained to avoid damage or malfunctions.
- Assist in developing and implementing cleaning schedules and deep-cleaning plans for public areas and guest rooms.
- Maintain effective communication with other departments to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Monitor and control wastage of cleaning materials and supplies.
Requirements:
- Diploma or vocational training in hospitality or a related field.
- Previous supervisory experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken; additional languages are an asset.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a focus on attention to detail.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team while working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using hotel management software, such as Opera, is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and cleaning protocols.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
