Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for ensuring a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all guests. This role involves maintaining guest rooms and public areas to the highest standards, replenishing supplies, and addressing guest needs promptly and professionally. The ideal candidate will contribute to a pleasant and safe guest experience by ensuring cleanliness and attention to detail.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and service assigned guest rooms, ensuring adherence to company standards.
  • Replace linens, towels, and guest amenities as needed.
  • Vacuum, dust, polish furniture, and remove marks from walls and fixtures.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms, restock toiletries, and empty trash.
  • Perform regular checks of appliances and furniture in rooms to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Transport and stock cleaning supplies to assigned areas and maintain organization of housekeeping carts.
  • Assist with deep cleaning tasks, including carpet cleaning and floor maintenance in hallways and common areas.
  • Respond to guest requests for additional services such as extra towels, bedding, or room supplies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of public areas such as lobbies, elevators, and restrooms.
  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures, including proper handling of chemicals and flammable materials.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or repairs needed in guest rooms or public areas to the maintenance team.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations, especially during busy periods.
  • Maintain personal appearance and uniform according to company standards.
  • Uphold guest privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.

 

Requirements:

  • Education: No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Experience: Prior housekeeping or custodial experience is preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, good communication skills, and a commitment to cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and bend for long periods. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds without assistance, and over 25 pounds with assistance.
  • Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Other Requirements: Must be able to follow safety procedures and guidelines for the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
