JOB DESCRIPTION

A General Technician Electrician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing electrical equipment to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A General Technician Electrician play a crucial role in preventing electrical problems, maintaining the integrity of the electrical infrastructure, and responding promptly to any issues that may arise. He must also stay updated on the latest industry trends and safety regulations to perform their duties effectively.

What will I be doing?

As a General Electrician, you are responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing electrical equipment to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A General Electrician will also be required to ensure work is done to code and provide assistance during emergencies. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Electrical Repairs and Maintenance:

Diagnosing and repairing electrical issues, such as power outages, faulty wiring, circuit overloads, and malfunctioning electrical equipment.

Conducting routine maintenance to prevent electrical problems and extend the lifespan of electrical systems.

Electrical Installations:

Installing new electrical systems, outlets, switches, and fixtures as needed to accommodate hotel renovations or expansions.

Wiring and connecting electrical equipment, appliances, and lighting fixtures.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensuring that all electrical work meets safety codes, standards, and regulations.

Conducting inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards.

Lighting:

Installing, maintaining, and replacing light fixtures, bulbs, and LED systems.

Implementing energy-efficient lighting solutions to reduce energy consumption and costs.

Power Distribution:

Managing the distribution of electrical power to various areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, common areas, kitchens, and mechanical rooms.

Troubleshooting and fixing electrical panel issues.

Emergency Response:

Being available for on-call duty in case of electrical emergencies, such as power failures or safety hazards, to ensure quick resolution.

Energy Efficiency:

Implementing energy-saving measures and technologies, such as motion sensor lighting and programmable thermostats, to reduce energy consumption and costs.

Electrical System Upgrades:

Upgrading outdated electrical systems and components to meet modern requirements and improve efficiency.

Record Keeping:

Maintaining accurate records of electrical repairs, installations, and maintenance activities.

Keeping inventory of electrical supplies and equipment.

Collaboration:

Working closely with other hotel staff, including maintenance personnel, engineers, and management, to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.

Training and Supervision:

Training and supervising junior electricians or apprentices, if applicable.

Budget Management:

Assisting in managing the electrical department's budget by controlling costs and making recommendations for cost-effective solutions.
