Job Summary:
Join Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha as a General Technician, where you will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of hotel facilities and guest comfort.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out repairs, maintenance, and general work as directed by the Shift-In charge.
  • Complete work orders, Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) orders, and Contract Work Authorizations (CWA) as assigned.
  • Select and utilize correct materials from the engineering stores for repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Organize work efficiently and professionally to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Promptly inform supervisors and colleagues of any issues or failures encountered during tasks.
  • Ensure safe working conditions for yourself and your colleagues, reporting any unsafe conditions to senior staff.
  • Maintain work areas in a safe and tidy condition after completing tasks.
  • Utilize mechanical and technical test equipment and instruments for diagnostics and repairs.
  • Work independently and demonstrate initiative without requiring detailed supervision.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer, supporting overall hotel operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Holiday Inn policies, standards, and procedures regarding engineering practices.
  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to identify maintenance needs and proactively address issues.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new engineering staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous hotel-related experience as a General Technician is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems and repair techniques.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve problems efficiently.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to hotel maintenance.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Basic computer skills for work order tracking and reporting.
  • Certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work are a plus.

 

Level of Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in maintenance or engineering preferred.

 

Work Hours:

  • Full-time position with flexible scheduling, including availability for various shifts.

 

Experience in Months:

  • Minimum of 12 months of relevant experience in hotel maintenance or general technician roles.
