Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Stewarding Supervisor to lead our stewarding team in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment. This role will involve overseeing the daily operations of the stewarding department, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and supporting the smooth functioning of the hotel’s kitchen and dining areas.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the stewarding team to ensure all kitchen areas and equipment are clean, organized, and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Train and mentor team members on cleanliness, safety, and sanitation practices.
  • Oversee inventory management for cleaning supplies and kitchen equipment, ensuring timely ordering and restocking.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and dining teams to ensure smooth operational flow and adherence to safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and dining areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Manage staff scheduling and workflow to optimize efficiency and coverage during peak hours.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as record-keeping, budget management, and preparing cleanliness reports.
  • Resolve team conflicts and operational issues, escalating matters when necessary.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in stewarding or a related role, preferably in a hotel or large-scale dining establishment.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong understanding of health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and supply ordering processes.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Certification in food safety or sanitation is preferred.
